They do make the system RAM for the PS3. That's what made their lawsuit against nVidia last year particularly amusing.

They litigate a lot, but they're not a troll. A troll is a non-practicing entity. Rambus employs quite a lot of engineers developing engineering IP/design cores.

On the contrary, they developed many technologies and patented them. Gray area aside, it wasn't their fault that JEDEC used their patents...

What work has Rambus actually done in the last 5 years or so? It seems they've turned into a company whose business model is now entirely about acquiring other companies' patent portfolios, and then suing.

Their executive staff should be lined up against the wall and shot.

They develop a lot of designs and license them. It's a common business model in the semiconductor industry. You drop a blackbox in your design and you don't have to design it yourself.

Steal their work? BS. Patents aren't "Work" they are ideas. Companies like rambus make it their business to patent broad enough ideas that they could make a case to sue anyone over them. They have no intention of actually producing any product or even leasing out the ability to product products on their patents.

So Qualcomm is a bad company for creating CDMA, but not creating products? CREE is a bad company for their LED technology, but not producing them?

Give me a break.
