Rambo IV Script revealed

So, the script that emerged ? a ''first draft'' Stallone has written with Art Monterastelli (The Hunted) ? finds Rambo living a monastic lifestyle in Bangkok and salvaging old PT boats and tanks for scrap metal. (''It's like he's stripping himself down,'' says the actor, pensively. ''That old piece of military equipment.'') When a group of volunteers bringing supplies into Burma disappears, a relative of one of the missing missionaries begs Rambo to find them. He heads off with a team of young guns, a plot point required by the financiers, who wanted to hedge against Rambo's possible mono-generational appeal.

I think they'll probably ruin it.

Not that I would expect Rambo IV to be a great movie.

The "Young Guns" will all be killed (except for the dashing lead), then Rambo will teach him a few things, get injured and he'll have save the day the same way Rambo did in a previous movie.

Because Hollywood sucks.

And maybe they'll dedicate some time to experimenting with fluid transfers. ;)

Ha! But it occurs to me (after further thought) that in every "war" movie involving commandos of some sort there has to be a semi-androgenous female included in the group.

So add Michelle Rodriguez to the list. ;)

Because Hollywood sucks.

Even though you havn't seen the movie yet, that is so accurate that it is practically a spoiler.

I was hoping for a sequel to Stop! Or my Mom Will Shoot! (complete with a post mortem Estelle Getty topless scene)

but this will do

"I'll make you famous."

And of course, they'll all get high on peyote at some point.

I can imagine a scene of them either sitting around a fire or holed up in hiding where the Young Gun lead spills his feelings to Rambo, then Rambo is all like "I know what it's like to lose your friends" then gets all tough, but stares with that distant look, then turns and sheds a single tear.

I saw First Blood for the first time recently, that was actually a pretty good film.

They should take Rambo IV in that direction, not in the crazy over the top action film direction.

And, for the love of god, leave the young guns out of it.
