So... I've never seen any of the Rambos. Do you all recommend me to see them before seeing this?

Basically all I know so far is... Rambo's badass.

You ought to at least see First Blood, it's a great movie by itself. The other two give you some back story, but it's pretty simple - Rambo wants to be left alone, doesn't want to kill anymore, but is compelled to do so to help people who are in danger (POWs in First Blood Part II, his superior officer in Rambo III). Pretty much the same plot as Rambo IV.

I may actually go see this. Sylvester Stallone called in to the Howard Stern show yesterday and they talked for about 40 minutes. Howard saw the movie and really liked it. Great interview too.

A 40 minute Rambo commercial? Sheesh...

you obviously don't listen to Howard then. about 2 minutes of the 40 were on Rambo.

But this time it's the hot Dexter chick (Rita) 😀.

First Blood rocked. C'mon, he gave David Caruso a bloody nose. "Nothing is over!!!"

Stallone should go on CSI Miami and PUNCH David Caruso AGAIN for being such a real-life asshat! 😀

critics are already flaming it saying it's just an excuse for gore and violence and even go as far as saying it's just Stallone stroking his ego.

Gore, Violence, and bad-assery is what this movie is ABOUT. They just proved it's a 10/10.

If I want a story I will go see something like Roots, or the like.

Rambo?? Oh, please! A 62 year old Golden Oldie with a face lift, taking on southeast Asia. Let it go, Stallone. Pick up your gold watch and retire already.
The reviews have been universally thumbs down. . .except here on ATOT. 😕

I am positive not only can he out lift you, but also outsurvive you.

He really was in a jungle and he has talked about how it sucked and many had to go for fluids at the hospital.

Alot of real sargent/military badasses are a little older.

Have someone find that CSI Miami video with all the intros and add in a that scene from Rambo.

Looks good, will definitely see it.

Rambo First Blood: Social Commentary with some great Action. The most sophisticated of the Rambo series for sure and a recommended see.
Rambo 2: Mainly an Action flick. Pretty good Action though
Rambo 3: same as 2, but not quite as good. Still worth seeing for Action junkies

I just think people need to understand that movies are in different genres and you rate a movie against its own genre and target audience not against all the classics. That is where RT and other review sites seem to fail miserably they want every movie to insightful and have great acting and a good plot and even underlying subtleties, but duess what, sometimes you just want to see alot of things blow up or some cool special effects, and thats OK too. I certainly enjoyed the first Rambo movie WAY more than I ever did "Citizen Kane" or the other sort of movies they have up there. Case and point should be the movie "Stalker", I was tricked into watching the piece of crap by these review websites and it just goes to show you how far off their view of movies is from the general public.

You think Hollywood is real? Narnia isn't a real place, you know.

Yeah.... I'm imagining that about 30 minutes of the interview were probably about boobies and fart jokes, and the remainder was about how great Howard and SIRIUS are 🙂

First was the only good Rambo movie, which was also based upon the book. 2 and 3 sucked and I'm guessing this one is more of the same. I'll pass.

I loved the first movie, couldn't stand 2 & 3. But I am READY to see this movie! I saw a trailer a few months ago and have been waiting ever since.

I definitely want to see this.

I had forgotten all about the 25th release date. I actually watched Rambo 3 last night. I like the part at the end about dedicated to the people of Afghanistan, and somewhere in the middle it is says something about if you've read history, you know these people (afghans) won't give in to an invading army and whatnot.

I don't agree with most who have a huge hard-on for Rambo 1. It was good, but I like 2 more, possibly 3 more too.

RT is kind of a screwed up site. I just watched T3 again last night and decided to see what the reviews were for T1 and T2. Interestingly enough T1 had 100% while T2 had only 97%. WTF! I thought to myself... who could possibly rottenize the awesomeness that is Terminator 2. I then realized it was Peter Travers of Rolling Stone and was shocked by this because we usually agree on most movies.

Then I saw he gave it 3/4 stars. How the fuck is this considered a bad review? 😛

Anyway, this has nothing to do with Rambo. RT sucks and John Rambo rocks. 🙂
