Just wanted to say Ramadan Mubarak (means something like Congratulations for something that happened...in this the beginning of Ramadan has arrived) to everyone!

For those who don't know, the next ~30 days is a time when Muslims won't eat, drink, or have sex from run rise till sun set. If you want to know more information I'm sure there are plenty of good sites available out there 😉

Oh lord that must be difficult for you - especially in Abu Dhabi where it is so hot! I'm sure there are places that are open...after all, to most people, money is more important 😀

1 of the 3 restaraunts in my hotel are open, but there are only little local places near the datacenter I am working at, but yeah I sneak some drinks of water when nobody else is around, but I definately feel bad for everyone else fasting (including no water) when it's 110 out! Not sure about other places but they only work until 2pm over here during Ramadan.

You're not supposed to drink or smoke either. So no chewing gum, eating candy, etc.

i'm just saying, i can hardly go 3-4 hours without eating or drinking something, let alone 12. therefore, i'd never make it through Ramadan 😛
 
i don't see why its something to congratulate. considering how its nearly impossible to leave that religion many get to starve for no good reason.
