I have a asus k7m with a 700 t-bird
& I have a stick of pc133 crucial 128mb ram in the slot closest to the cpu(cuz that the slot it wanted to be in). Anyway I have a stick of toshiba pc100 128mb & I cant use them together , no matter how I configure them in the slots?

I dont remember way case they are, if there case 3 that might be the answer right? Or can I not just use these together on this mobo. I also tried
with my athlon classic & know diff. Somone help me with some answers!

Sometimes different memory is not compatibile with each other.
You can get the model number off of the crucial memory and go on their site and get the statistics for that stick of RAM and see if it is CAS 2 or 3.
If you run the PC 100 memory with the PC 133 memory this will cause the PC 133 to run at the slower speed of PC 100. You may be better off running just the PC 133 stick.
You can also sell off the Toshiba RAM and buy an identical stick of Crucial memory to match what you have now.
What is your computer doing to make you think there is a problem. Does it crash? When does it crash? Need some more details

If I put the Tos stick in the middle slot it wont boot, if I put it
in the slot farthest from cpu it will boot but not recognize the tosh stick?

if you using a 2 stick of mem that run at different speeds, you need to make shure that you set the motherboard settings for the memory to the slowest speed. in this case 100mhz. If you have the setting at 133 that could be the cause of the system not booting up.

Are they both Athalon tested memory chips? try them one at a time alone and see if both work with your tbird

Why would you have ram that are rated at two different speeds? Anyway is it possible to overclock the pc100 to... say 112mhz and run them both at that? Just a thought.
