I order two different brands of ram by mistake but I can't return the extra one so can Mushkin Enhanced Radioactive 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 be used with Patriot Intel Extreme Master, Limited Edition 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600?

The only way to know for sure is to install them and test them together. It will depend on your MOBO. The newer the board the better your odds. Best answer is, probably.

I would use Memtest86 with both DIMMs in. Run it overnight using the full test, that way you would know for certain. When I get a new computer or new RAM I always run Memtest86 overnight.

If both sets support XMP then you should be able to run them together without problems. I have a set of 2x4 G Skill memory running with a set of Samsung 2x4 memory at XMP setting with zero problems.

They should work fine, assuming you run dualchannel.

The memory will simply downgrade to the lowest determinator for both sets.
