I have been having problems with downloading files lately and just the other day I had an error message with Seti (bad file header), so I ran
memtest86 and it seems that my second stick of Crucial PC2100 256meg is REALLY bad. On just one pass it had counted up over 600 errors.

I'm wondering if my ram settings are the cause of this since they are at the most agressive, also if things would work better if I crank the settings
down a bit or if the ram is completely damaged now?

If I download something and get corrupted files, would it be the same as if I copied alot of information from another computer on my network?
Would I also expect to see the same amount of corrupted files?

What's the process for RMA'ing something to Crucial?

Why don't you try running it at def timings... and see if it still comes up with errors.

Here's the info on the RMA process:

7. Return procedures. Please contact the place of purchase for return procedures. If customer purchased product(s) directly from Crucial Technology, then customer shall return the product(s) to Crucial Technology pursuant to the following terms. Customer must obtain a Return Material Authorization ("RMA") number by calling customer service at 1-800-336-8915. Returned products should be shipped to the following address:

Crucial Technology
Attn: RMA Dept - RMA# _______
3475 E. Commercial Ct.
Meridian, ID 83642
Customer shall return the products to Crucial Technology in the original packaging and enveloped in the original antistatic bags. Crucial Technology will not be responsible for damaged parts if customer does not follow this process. Please retain shipping information, including tracking numbers, until your account has been credited by Crucial Technology or replacement product is received. If Crucial Technology determines that failure of the product(s) was not a result of a defect in materials or workmanship, Crucial Technology reserves the right to charge customer for parts and labor at Crucial Technology's then current labor rate or charge customer a 20% restocking fee. Crucial Technology will advise customer prior to assessing these charges.

Yes, I was reading the RMA process and saw that, but it seems that unless you buy your Crucial ram directly from Crucial, then you might be
out of luck. I didn't realize that before.

Well, I didn't reply before, but after reading about settings, I changed everything back to normal and it ran fine,
so then I tried everything and ended up finding that I could still run the most agressive settings, but I had to change
the 1T to 2T for the DRAM Command Rate and then everything tested fine. I then tried it at normal settings and just
bumped up the 2T to 1T for the DRAM Command Rate and again I got a bunch of errors.

Anyway, to sum it up, I guess it's still doing pretty well for being PC2100 ram. I'm getting 284Mhz out of it at CL2
and still running the most agressive settings but at 2T Command Rate.
