I have a 512 stick of ram that will do 177 FSB @ 7-2-2-2 and another stick that won't at those timing (but runs up to 182 FSB at very relaxed timings). Would it be better for me to have a gig of ram at slower timings, or 512 at faster timings? Maybe this is a really stupid question, but if the 512 is faster then I can sell the other stick.

What do you do with your PC? If you game I'd suggest more RAM. Games like C&C Generals and a few others these days are really memory hogs, and I doubt you'll notice a difference in your games even with slower timings.

If you encode DivX or MP3's, the faster RAM timings should help you out.

I'm currently running the whole gig at 184MHz 7-3-3-2, which I can live with.
