RAM Voltage Question

I just got a new system:
EVGA A1 680i MB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813188013
2GB (2x1GB) OCZ
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227178
C2D E6600
Thermaltake 750W PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153038

Anyway, the RAM is supposed to run at 1066 Speed, by default in my MB it wanted to run at 800. So I went into the BIOS and set it to LINKED which upped the ram to 1066 but this caused Vista to fail to load because it couldn't find ntkernel. So I selected Unlinked and set it to 1066. This worked, everything was stable. I then undid that and and turned on the RAMS SLI mode by setting it to CPUOC %0 (Because it says it is SLI Capable and I didn't want to Overclock it so I set it to 0%). This worked too and I was happy and things seemed to be stable. Then I was reading on some boards that the 1066 RAM run at 2.4v would cause the ram to die pretty quickly if left on 24/7 (which I do).

So I did a quick reboot to check what the voltages were for my ram. The MB had set it to 2.4 by default (Auto). So I took it off of Auto and changed it down to 2.1. So far it seems to be stable (haven't played any games or anything yet though). Says it is still in 1066 mode as well.

Is this going to be a problem running it a lower voltage then the MB wants to run it at? When it comes to voltages and stuff I am a complete newb. I normally just let the MB control that and don't worry about it since I don't OC.

Lower voltage shouldn't cause a problem as long as it is within the specs. Going over will be a concern since you can kill it. Check for the nominal and max voltage levels of your ram on OCZ's website.

OCZ specs the memory to run at 2.1 V, and they are the ones to ask. The motherboard may have simply interpreted the SPD data incorrectly. You're fine. Run an application like Memtest if you want to be sure.

on the EVGA 680i, i've found it works best on Unlinked, with SLI-Ready Memory either set to Disabled (which is preferable, i've found) or Expert and NOT one of the n% OC option.
So just set your voltages, your clock on Unlinked Mode, and then Run Memtest for a few times through and that should be it.
