ram type?

I have 512 pny ram on single channel. If I were to get another 512, could it be same brand? and would it be ok to get two sticks instead of one and use up all three of my channels, or jsut get one?

I would just get 1 more 512 stick. 1 gig is probably plenty for now, and you can buy another if neccesary later on (when they will be cheaper as well). Usually you want to get similar sticks of RAM, but they will probably work together if they are a different brand. If you get a different speed RAm, it will either slow down your RAM or slow itself down so all the RAM is the same speed, so keep that in mind.
