RAM to go with amd 94 fx-53

See i know i need registered ram for the cpu and mobo. But very few sites actually tell you whether it is reg or not. Is there another way of finding out if it doesn't tell u in the item description ? iv heard unbuffered ram is best to get for games etc.

any idea's ?

dont go for ecc or registered. just go for any good plain ddr. if you intend to overclock, i recommend you get the ocz el platinum rev 2. if not, then just get the plain mushkin 1gb (512mb x 2) for $140ish or so, which are just as fine as corsair value ram.

cheers tarant and milky. i dont know , i tried looking it up but couldnt find an answer. see milky i need registered ram with the cpu n mobo , besides i wont be overclocking at either. corsair is a little 2 much for me to spend so i might get crucuail value select or Geil ram. im still deciding. but EEC= Registered ram then , is that right ??

that's what i am assuming. i know that you definetely need registered ram though. so don't get anything that isn't.

I don't think ECC is the same thing as registered memory.
You need registered memory if your FX-53 is a Socket 940, unbuffered if it's a 939.

yeah its a 940 socket. See the thing is when im ordering the mobo and ram , it doesnt state whether its reg or not. just says the usual stuff. There has been one site which did state it was reg but it wasnt branded. jus said it was a major brand reg ram.

Yes you can consider you save money on CPU but remember all registered RAM do come with a much higher price than normal RAM.

Anyway FX-53 is really a powerful CPU 🙂

UNFORTUNATLY i have just figured that out. however i am on the hunt. Because i live in the UK it is high however i am probably just going to order them from ebay.com who will ship to the UK , the prices then seem more in my range! so ill save money as well!
