Here are the two choices I've picked out for myself:

Patriot Extreme

or

Mushkin XP2

A third choice (but for $100 extra)

Patriot Extreme 1150mhz

I plan to run this with an Asus P5K family motherboard, and a Core 2 Q6600. I plan to overclock, likely running the processor at 3ghz if possible. Which memory do you think is my best overall bet? (Overclockability, stability, speed, price)

If you have other options for me, name them, but I'm trying to maximize value as much as performance.

Thanks!

seconded, no hassle with rebates, and it's plenty fast. I'd prefer 4gb of ddr800 over 2gb of ddr1066 though.

Any particular reason 4gb would be better?

Eventually I plan to up the memory likely to 6gb in a year or so when the parts are cheaper and I actually need the RAM.

Well, 4gb of ram can never hurt, and the increase in performance when going from ddr800 to ddr1066 is negligible. Besides, right now ram should be relatively cheap, it will only be going up from here on out.

If you are planning to use the 64-bit OS, go for 4GB (if your budget allows).

On a 32-bit OS you might want to consider 3GB - 2x1GB + 2x512MB (if Mushkin offers the matching kits in 512x2 modules).

That's my setup.
