RAM suggestions

I need to replace my current RAM...256mb pc2700 generic I will be taking back b/c it isn't stable at 160mhz or higher, 256mb pc2700 Mushkin I purchased locally yesterday which won't even run any higher than 150mhz(gets to windows up to 170mhz but reboots the second anything starts loading). I am running a 1700+ tbredb @ 2075mhz(12.6x166 1.675v, currently w/75% mem ratio), Epox 8rda+, 300w TTGI PSU, 80gb WD SE, 30gb maxtor, 24x10x40 QUE!...I was thinking about the Kingston HyperX 512mb pc3000c2 from googlegear for $98, then at a later date purchase another stick to run DCDDR...is this RAM going to be quality or am I gonna keep getting screwed repeatedly? thanks ya'll

go with twinmos/winbond or twinmos/twinmos.... good quality stuff

and the pc3000 is great as well!

running 192 @ 2-2-2-6

maybe i'll get to 200 once i do my mobo mod 🙂

Also...I have my CPU set at 12.5x175 w/75% ratio and voltage set at 1.725 right now in bios but in windows it is 1.74 - 1.78 and temps ar at 34c idle(haven't tested load cause I'll set prime95 up right before bed...), what is safe for in windows readings? I see shimmi, you have a damn nice overclock so you should be able to help give me an idea what is safe.

you have tried lowering the multiplier on your cpu right.

yes I have tried multi down to 10x...I didn't point out, sorry, it will run at that speed for 2 days running prime95 with the mem ratio on...therefore it is the ram that is screwing things up

also..I need some input quick! PC3000 512mb HyperX($98) or PC3200 512mb XMS($138), I took the mushkin back and now I need to place my order quick, I know the xms is prolly a bit better but for the price it makes me not want to get it. Do any of you have this mobo paired with some XMS or HyperX?

Performs better than XMS PC3200 or PC3500. This is not the lowest price on the internet and I am sure it can be found elsewhere for much less. But it gives you the idea.

I ordered the 512mb PC3000 HyperX from newegg for $80 + $6 shipping...not too bad of deal I reckon....hopefully this works correctly and I can stop worrying about these ever-so-great RAM problems.
