I just wasted $160 on Geil Platinum ultra dual ddr.
A purchasing decision based on the review in anandtech.

What did I learn?

Never base a purchase on a review where the company supplies the test product.
Anandtech's review is even quoted on Geil's website.
Believe me this review doesn't reflect the reality of this memory in the least.
I have 2year old TiwnMOS ddr2700 that vastly out preforms it.
Vastly.

This DDR will not even boot into windows at it's own spd settings unless the memory voltage is
increased to 2.9 (a suggestion of the Geil tech guy I talked to).

Do not waste your money based on a review were Geil obviously supplied "ringer"
RAM knowing a superb review would influence too trusting individuals like myself.

THE ONLY TRUSTWORTY HARDWARE REVIEW IS ONE WHERE THE REVIEWER PURCHASES THE PRODUCT AT A RETAIL SUPPLIER

The DRAM has a nice package though.

The Geil Tech guy was unable to suggest settings that got this DDRAM to even approach the
speed of my old TwinMos. And this was without any apps running on it! Where as the old 2700 can run CFS3 at 1200 x 1600 stable over 3.2gh

My system?
