Hi, my iMac G5 wants PC3200 ram, but what will happen if I put in 2GB of PC2700? I guess it will slow down the bus speed, but would it cause instability? Also, is there a way to clock up the ram on a Mac? I know that on my windows box I can config the mobo to run at a certain bus speed.

If anyone has done it before, what kind of difference in performance did you experience?

I believe that Apple machines are fairly inflexible when it comes to RAM - you have to use the right kind, and there is no real way to adjust the latencies. It might simply OC the 166MHz RAM to 200MHz, or it might not boot at all, I don't know.

I wouldn't risk it.
