Ram sinks on mobo

I have the DIF Expert with 2 EVGA 7800GT's with the NV-78 Water blocks installed and i was wandering because i didn't have to use the ram sinks that i purchased for it just in case is there a place on the mobo that i could cool some of the chips on there? Ideas

Thanks I tried to do a search but I guess I wasn't searching for the right stuff.😱 I'll have to do some looking on my board and find where the mosfets are and which ones I should put them on I have like 16 of them I think.

This may sound like an "on crack" way offinding mofsets, but let your fingers do the walking!

Carefully place your fingers in the black part ONLY of parts you suspect might be mofsets. If it's hot, chances are you are on to something here!

Well to be honest I think that is rather funny for the "on crack" method. I like the idea of being creative but I've got my system put to gether now. I'll post pictures of it soon but I have to make a trip to HomeDepot to get some clamps the ones I have are to small and won't work. Here is a picture of my mobo the only thing i see that could be the mosfets (from my noob point of view) is in the upper left of this picture. 3 of them. Any ideas of how far off/wrong I am LOL. Thanks for your help again.

I BELIVE that the mosfet's are the black things (circled in the image 2 posts up). I got 8 of them since the A8N32 has an 8 phase power thingy.

So, why is it so good to cool the mosfets?

Can't dig up a link right now, but in one article I've read the tests showed that cooling the mosfet (which gets pretty hot btw, 50+ °C on occasion) had a positive effect on CPU, chipset and general mobo temperatures. In a sense, heat can spread through the circuits.

And as with everything else, a lower operating temp increases the reliability and lifetime of the hardware.
