im running corsair xms 2x1024-6400. my default settings are at 5-5-5-18. so that means...tcas-trcd-trp-tras. what setting would i set the 5th(TRC) setting to? its currently at 22 clocks. voltage is at 1.8v. i'd like to get it to 4-4-4-12 2.1v. which seems to be the optimal setting. i hope. can someone shed some light on the TRC setting.

i've also got a setting for addressing mode too. not sure if that matters.

ryderOCZ isn't wrong but IMO the tRC setting can add additional bandwidth and deserves tinkering with

If you're willing to do the stability testing - check to see how low you can go on tRAS / tRC - I got my ram at a far lower speed but much tighter timings and have zero stability issues going against some "rules". I'd play with that tRAS and tRC settings and if your mobo has it available in bios check out the tRD setting

lowering your tRC +tRD has a chance of increasing your overall *potential* memory bandwidth but will depend on rated FSB you're running also

right now I'm stress testing 4 x 1 gig's of Crucial Ballistix at 3-3-3-3 / tRC 7 / tRD 4 - T1 command rate - I'm giving them 2.178v (per bios) - I'm fully aware I can't address all the memory (looks like I'm gonna get 3.5 gigs...) but I had another kit just laying around and felt like testing

don't go over 2.1v unless you have active cooling and are willing to possibly void your warranty - I'd just put a fan on em anyways :p

ok, i've checked with the corsair recommended settings and it seems that 4-4-4-12 wont work. i've tried that setting and my pc froze. so im assuming that was the reasoning why. i've got it set to 5-5-5-15-22 1.9v. i'll just leave it at that. not much of a difference.

like i said above - try adjusting the tRAS, tRC, & tRD settings

Independent of the other latency settings (5-5-5) - in my experience with latency adjustment they (tRAS, tRC, & tRD) have a lesser chance of needing more voltage to run lower

You need 2.1V on that, if it's the same RAM that I have. Did the package say XMS2 on it? Purple package?

Mine says right on it, 2.1V and 4-4-4-12
