Could i run 4 x 512 sticks of ram in my system? i have 2 x 512 now and the other 2 512 sticks i have arent the same type that i have in there would it be possible to run them together?

specs:
dfi lp ut nf4
opty 148 @ 2.4
evga 7800gt

let me know

Not sure what you mean by "type", but as long as they are the same
(i.e.- all are pc3200) it should be fine.

Yes. What, you think those other two RAM slots are just for show? The only restriction is that you have to run the same speed/timings on all of them -- if you mix CL2 DDR400 and CL3 DDR333, you have to run at CL3/DDR333 speed for all the RAM (for example).

Please search; basic RAM questions have been asked and answered many, many, many times before.

It's possible to run them together, but by getting away from having it all on two sticks, you give up some timing advantages.
