RAM Question...

Hey all

I recently upgraded my friends Asus P5A BIOS program to the newest BIOS revision and have come through it relatively unscathed. The only annoyance I cannot seem to get to stop, is when the computer boots to the BIOS Post screen, it shows the cpu, then does a count up on the amount of RAM in the computer. But it doesnt stop. I counts upto the amount, then begins again and again until I have to press the esc key to get it to stop. This only happens upon COLD boot. To restart the machine as warm booting, it wont re-test the ram amount.
Has anyone encountered this problem before?

All help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hmmm sounds like you should go ahead and put the old bios back. Glitch city. Wait til a new updated comes out P:)

Look for a quick boot enable/disable in your bios. It's probably disabled.

iirc, w/ the quick boot disabled it counts up 8 times as it tries various patterns (ie: all 1s, all 0s, checkerboard, inverted checkerboard...)

You Da MAN! It wasnt listed as a quick boot, it was under quick power on test.

Thanks much for the help, I appreciate it!
