I hope someone can help me out here.
My system is a compaq 5150 with 128mb sdram
I bought a 128mb pc-133 b-ward compatable stick of generic RAM from memplus.com
LINK TO THE RAM
I put it in the last slot open and the system does not recognize it. I took the other 2 sticks out. and put that one in slot 1.
It does not recognize it.
I emailed Compaq tec support and here is what they say to me:
Please note that your system has 128 MB 100 MHz SyncDRAM; upgradable to 384 MB (SyncDRAM DIMM required). The Presario 5150 comes with a 100-MHz 128-MB SDRAM DIMM for a total of 128 MB, and have 2 additional empty memory sockets. System memory is expandable to 384 MB by installing a 100-MHz, 128-MB SDRAM DIMM in each memory socket. All DIMMs must support Serial Presence Detect.Following are the memory modules with part number:
Does this ram not work with this system? I mean I didn't pay alot for it $60 shipped. But it only says will not work with HP or emachine.
Thank You
