ram question

Im currently customizing a pc on cyberpower and to save money im probably only going to get 1gb of ram. Im getting 1gb ( 2x 512mb )

My question is, can i later get another 1gb stick or will i have to get two 512mbs?

you could do that, but your new memory would no longer allow your system to run in dual channel mode.

You can get another 2x 512 meg
performance of 4 dimms lacks in ati systems, but newer intel systems do not seem to have a problem.
Stabalizing 4 sticks is more difficult though than 2 though.
