Ok i just picked up a gig of DDR400 for my board (the highest it can support) and i was just wondering, can I keep my old ram in there and bring my total ram up to 1.5gigs w/o damaging my system? The old ram is DDR333. Anyone?

Yeah, but by keeping the 333mhz in there, the 400mhz will be forced to also run at 333mhz (all ram runs at the speed of the slowest stick).

Your prolly better off just runing the new gig @ 400mhz (ie, take out the 333mhz stuff)

Actually, I don't think PC2700 speeds would starve even an A64 too much, and if you have an AXP that runs at 333 FSB anyway then you're fine. However, if you have a more bandwidth-dependent CPU like the P4, you may want to run just the PC3200 (assumes 800 FSB, though there is also the dual channel factor). But then again, if you're not doing anything critical with your machine and only use it for gaming/what not, see if your PC2700 can OC to PC3200 speeds.
