RAM question on Shuttle AK31 v3.1 (OCZ PC2400)

I bought the Shuttle AK31 v3.1, AMD 1700+ XP and a stick of OCZ PC2400 256MB DDR in December and have never had a problem with this combo. I could push the FSB to 150 MHz without a problem but typically run it @ 138 because of some people having problems with corrupted data or registry problems and my data is to important right now to chance it. Recently I bought another stick of OCZ PC2400 256MB DDR because it has been trouble free but it has different chips than the original stick. I'm not sure of the chips on the original because it is a "symbol" and not a manufacture name. The new stick has "Nanya" chips it will not clock as high as the original stick with the same memory settings. When I try to use both sticks together (slots 3 and 4) the system hangs or crashes (CAS2, 138 FSB, 4way, 2, 5, 2, 1T), but the Nanya stick works OK by itself at these settings as well as the original stick. They just won't play well together! Any suggestions or tips?

Thanks in advance...

BTW, RAM is NON-ECC and Unregistered (PC2400 DDR) and OS is WIN98SE

Have you tried different slots? Currently I have my Crucial PC2100 on slots 1 & 2. (CAS2, 133 FSB, 4way, 2, 5, 2, 1T).

Also try running at less aggressive ram timings.

Try changing your ddram command setting to 2T, (trp) at 2T, (tras) at 6T, (trcd) at 3T, and leave your case setting at 2. It should run with both sticks at 138 fsb with no problems.
