I found on this website that these will fit the dell optiplex gx200....... but those are expensive and it seems that they are pc700 ram.... do you guys think i can go out and get me some pc800 and still work? (which are cheaper by the way..)

thanks

Standard features include Intel® Pentium® III processors from 600 to 866 MHz with 256 KB advanced transfer cache and 133 MHz front-side bus, up to 1 GB3 of PC700 or PC800 RDRAM, EIDE ATA-66 hard drives or Ultra/160 SCSI hard drives, and up to 16 MB of RAM integrated into the 4X advanced graphics port (AGP) enabling exceptional graphics performance and visual quality for today's multi-media and Web-based applications.

thanks minendo.... i was not sure because the holes on the bottom of the ram for the pc700 i found on that website look a little different.... th e ones already in the computer has two holes (or groves.. i dunno) closer in the middle, but the ones shown on that website have holes farther apart... so i wasn't sure if they'll fit

but this should clarify things. so thanks =)

I believe that if you buy the PC800, you must buy a pair of those and you cannot mix them with the PC700.

eh?? from the page that minendo found, it says up to 1 GB3 of PC700 or PC800 RDRAM, but I can't mix these two??
also, how do you tell if what i have originally is pc700? the thing is covered by a heatsink, and the only number i can find on it is 100....
