RAM Problem

Last summer when RAM prices were so low, i purchased a 256 mb generic stick of pc133 with LD chips from a vendor that i found on price watch. When i installed it last summer, the computer would recognize the increase in RAM and everything checked out ok in the bios, but whenever it got to the Win2k login screen it would just reboot itself. I have a dell p3 933 with 128 mb installed, and i tried all combinations with the two sticks including the 256 by itself, but the machine would reboot itself each time even after recognizing the increase (or decrease) in memory. Well, i just installed XP Pro the other day, and i decided that i should give the installation another shot. It recognized the increase in memory just like always, but this time a blue Windows XP window came up with the error "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". Does anybody know what this means? There was also technical information provided at the bottom that read "***stop: 0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x804F5619)" Does anybody know how i can solve this problem?? XP Pro isnt liking the 128 mb very well, and i'd really love to find a solution to this. thanks for you help (and for reading all of this)

I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear, but, I think you picked up a bad stick of RAM. Doesn't sound like you tried to return it, but now it has been a while and you might not be able to. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's how I see it.
