Ram Problem

Hi everyone, I have just installed 2 sticks of 256mb PC-3200 Dual Channel RAM to my motherboard. My motherboard has 4 slots so now there all filled up with PC-3200 256mb each. The only difference between them is the brand. My problem is every now and then my computer will restart sometimes rite after windows loads up, and other times after playing for a couple of minutes. Before I installed the ram today my computer was OC'ed from 2.8ghz to 3.0. After I installed the RAM my computer would restart instantly, but after I lowered the cpu clock back or to it's default to 2.8 it's less frequent but still there. I was just wondering if any of you guys have can help me because I'm not really smart with computers and I'm really frustrated! =/

What kind of motherboard and CPU? Check the timings of each stick and make sure they're not being forced to run at something not rated by the manufacturer. Voltage for the two pairs? Take the two new sticks out and run memtest86 ( http://www.memtest.org ) on them, then swap with the new two and run it on them. Then run it on all four. Be aware that you may have to reduce your overclock if running 4DIMMs on an older motherboard.

Hi thanks for replying, if this helps this is my computer the model is 8923 (http://powerspec.com/systems/archives/system_archive.phtml)
and the new RAM i bought is this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820161625).
For the memory test website, I don't know where to download and I think if I did download it I don't know how to install it. Sorry for being so stupid but I'm really clueless which one to download.

The first link goes to a page listing many dozens of systems but not one in particular.

Edit: Download this version, save it to a floppy. Boot from the floppy by pressing F9 or F12 or whatever it is at startup to change the boot order (or press Del or F2 or whatever to get into the BIOS and change the boot order there (google it)). When you have booted from the floppy it should automatically start the memory test.

Roguestar pretty much summed it up. Instead of getting memtest, you might as well just download the whole deal of utilities. http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html. It includes a few other memory tests w/ a bunch of other crap that I have used in the past.

Hi again, well finally got memtest running and heres what I got.
Settings: RAM:200MHz(DDR400)/CAS:2.5-4-4-8/Dual Channel(128bits)
This was with all four sticks. I will get the other test up later tonite with 2 sticks of each brand.
