I have had 256 mb of pc 2700 (Corsair) in my albatron kx600 motherboard. It has been working great but i opted for more ram. I had an extra stick of pc 2700 (kingston) lying around so I popped it in the motherboard. Unfortunately, windows still shows only 256 mb of ram. I tested the sticks individually and they both work, but together it only registers as 256!?!?!?! ANy suggestions?

I'd say your motherboard does not like that combo of ram sticks. Not all ram works in all motherboards universally. Usually they do. Sometimes they dont. You might try to switch the sticks in different combos of the ram slots to see if that helps. Also, check the bios settings for memory and try some combos. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck.

To test the motherboard, I put a pair of matched kingston ram into it, and it ran fine. I then put the stick of corsair, and the one stick of kingston ram in my nforce 2 board. The same thing happened! It looks like the Corsair does not know how to play nice with my other ram:laugh:
