Ram Problem: I didnt get what was advertised.

Hello Everyone,

I decided to build myself a new system so i went with the following:

Motherboard: Asus A8n-Sli Deluxe
CPU: Amd 64 3500+ socket 939, 90nm core

Ram: 2 sticks of ETT 1gb pc4000 184pin ddr link

I first noticed a problem when i tried to set my ram to 500 MHz and my computer wouldnt load windows so i set it back to auto.

I then downloaded CPU-Z and after running it and checking in the Memory tab it tells me that my ram is running at 130.1 MHz. In the SPD tab the max bandwidth is listed as pc2100 (133 mhz).

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here!!!!!?????

DV Century has a number of angry customers rating it on Pricewatch, many of them with ram problems. Approval rating is only 50%.

Yeah $168 was a bit cheap for a single dimm of 1 GB.

They are a horrible company from reading these reviews. Horrendous reviews. Hopefully you can return that for a refund.

Good god. Who runs it, the rats in their warehouse???? 1.81 Lifetime, 0.77 6-month. Wow.


Anyway, for laughs (while you're waiting to hear back on a refund), download Everest. In the Motherboard section of the program, click on SPD. Hopefully the RAM can ID itself; if it does, right-click on the text for the memory, and click Copy; paste it back here then.

Hey guys im about to call them now.. anyway in everest the spd section displays nothing about the ram.

Ok, I guess they didn't update Everest to fully support your motherboard/chipset yet.

well i had to fill out a rma form.. so anyway im going to go with crucial.com and buy the ballistix memory.. i dont think i can go wrong with them.
