RAM performance

I'm curious, what is the major difference between the performance ram and the regular type, like kingston hyperX compared to kingston value. I know the latencies are lower, but is there a very dramatic effect on overall game performance, or is it mainly for getting better benchmark scores?

You can overclock it more, that's the only difference. If you don't plan on changing bios settings, just buy normal ram.
