I'm getting ready for my first PC build and only have about $1000 to spend. I have to money for performance RAM, but if it is just going to waste when I upgrade the mobo in a year, is there really a point?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Are you into overclocking then I'd say get performance RAM. If not, then get Value RAM. Whatever, I certainly would stick with a name brand that has a good track record.

I would save the money and get some good CAS3 memory. You can always use dividers if you're going to overclock.

However, if you plan on going Intel, get whatever memory you want, since you'll be able to use it for a while.

Er, whatever. :)

EDIT: Some motherboards really don't like value RAM.
