RAM Peculiarities

So I installed a new mobo, I ran test out of the case to load BIOS and load latest BIOS before putting in the case. Now I have a stick of RAM that wants to be fussy.

If the RAM is in slot 1 or 4 it boots. If it is in slots 2 or 3 no POST. If the stick is in 4 and a stick in 2 it will POST. if the stick is in 2 and the other stick is in 4, no POST.

The other stick can be anywhere and boots.

In each POST I load windows and it reads the proper amount be it 8 or 16.

Memtest+ shows both sticks are fine.

Ryzen CPU is seated right and no bent pins.

It's just... Odd. So I have it in dual mode showing 16 with the odd stick in slot 4.

Anyone ever run in to this?

OK, that is odd.
Did you run memtest86+ with both in, or did you try one DIMM at a time?
Also, how long did you run memtest86+?

I ran 5 passes overnight, no errors both sticks in.

Ryzen R5 1600
ASUS B350-F Gaming motherboard
Corsair 16 GB (8x2) LPX DDR4 3000 Ram that is booting at 2133 (I haven't tried to tweak this yet)
XFX GTR RX 480 8GB GPU
NVMe SSD and some other drives but not connected.

Is the memory a "matched set" ie. did you purchase both sticks at the same time and from the same place that sold them as a matched set)?

Yes matched set was a 2x8 pack from Corsair.
Model CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 which is on the QVL.

Worked fine in the B350 Tomahawk but the ASUS B350-F Gaming is what I am using now. I did try the sticks back in the Tomahawk for testing and the same thing happens. Just very odd. No chance of ESD.

Corsair is going to RMA. Just did not know if anyone has seen this particular type of issue before.
