RAM or memtest problem

Earlier I noticed that I had more available RAM from windows task manager than I normally do with as many programs running. I ran Memtest since I was suspicious and it came up with about 50 errors until it got to test 9.

When it got to test 9 on the first stick (I think it was the first stick, it said something like testing 200mb-2000mb out of 6000) it kept piling up errors. It went to about 850,000 before freezing. I had to force it to shut off and when I tried to restart my computer wouldn't turn on for about 30 minutes. Everything in the tower was fine but the monitor wasn't showing anything.

However I tried it again and it turned on and appears to be running fine. I never got Memtest to finish, and I assume if I really had 800,000 errors I wouldn't be typing this on my computer right now...so what's the problem? I've run Memtest on a disc before on this computer with no problems, but could it be Memtest? (I'm afraid to run it again now after last time)

Some more info:

The RAM I use is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145222 I've had it for 7 months with no problems, and memtest never reported anything wrong before now.

So far nothing seems to be wrong visibly. I was playing Dungeon Siege 3 and I notice Norton seems to be racking up a lot of "high memory usage" reports while I'm playing, which is weird since it recommends 2gb and I usually have over 4gb free. Could be I have a RAM problem after all?

Make sure you're using Memtest86+, http://www.memtest.org/

If you're getting any errors, it's not a good thing. If you keep having problems, RMA it to Corsair, it's got a lifetime warranty :) . If it's in your budget, keep a second set around for this situation.
