RAM mounts are ugly, but they last forever. I've got some LCD monitors at different worksites that have been hanging on them for 3 or 4 years now without any issues. Ugly, but quality gear :thumbsup:

Mount the phone directly on the tank or fairing. You're not going to be able to manipulate it while riding anyway but, you'll still be able to see it.

I've seen a ball mount system like this used before, I just can't quite remember where. Basically you need some kind of vice that goes 3 ways. Like a claw.

not sure I understand but short of screwing them together or using a lot of tape I don't see a solution.
