Olds, you seem to have a thing for expensive ugly hardware. Just use a rubber band or, velcro tape.

RAM mounts are ugly, but they last forever. I've got some LCD monitors at different worksites that have been hanging on them for 3 or 4 years now without any issues. Ugly, but quality gear :thumbsup:

I've seen a ball mount system like this used before, I just can't quite remember where. Basically you need some kind of vice that goes 3 ways. Like a claw.

not sure I understand but short of screwing them together or using a lot of tape I don't see a solution.

That ball looks like just the right mount to fix your phone to a convenient receptacle while enjoying sexytimes.
