How can I find out what speed my bus is?
I want to get a new stick of ram, but I dont know if my system can handle pc133, seeing as the bus could very well be pc66.

Anyone that can help would be appreciated.

we need the markings on the chip... and you are better off asking this in general hardware

Are you sure matt?

Im running a p2-300mghz.
I thought pc133 only works with pc133-pc100
and pc100 works with pc100-pc66.

Maybe Im wrong? Can someone clarify?

Memory is backwards compatible. You can run a pc133 chip on a board that's only running at 66mhz and it will work fine. The only problem I've ever run into with memory is an old micron -8e chip that wouldn't work in my board (bx6 rev.2). I could never figure out what the problem was so I just took it back and swapped it for another chip and I was good to go.

No problem man, any time.

It's a shame that I don't drink coffee or I might take you up on that offer ;)

[Edit]

I don't know where you're getting your memory from, but I think Crucial still has free shipping and if you go through the webpromo section you save about 5%. Might be worth checking out.
