RAM for dual core

I am going to finally upgrade to a dual core CPU and board.

i have 3x1gig sticks of Kingston PC3200 Ram. Its not the best ram but it did cost like 115 per stick.

will this work in a dual core processor or do you need a special type of ram?

is there like "dual core" ram that is needed?

go easy on me i am a noob.

You said you were upgrading the motherboard - what system are you coming from, and what are you going to? You might need new RAM for that reason, but no, not because of dual core.

With new motherboards check the voltage settings attainable. Some versions of the 800mhz RAM has a higher Voltage requirement. This might be critical if overclocking. I dont think any real benefit can be had from using DDR2.

I would recommend OP take advantage of the increased performance opportunity with an upgraded MB which will get him into some faster DDR2 RAM.

Is this the Piasabird?
