RAM for DELL laptop

Which model do you have ? the SODIMM should be on bottom, just plug in, they wont even know.. unless it's one you have to take apart... i upgrade mine with crucial, one came with crucial and the other came with hyundai..

I believe that Dell shouldn't have problems with you if you send off your unit (when it needs warranty services) as long as the Crucial SoDIMM module is removed before shipping.

Also, ask your question at the Dell forums. Try searching for previous posts, too. I remember reading similar questions before.

Fuzzmuncher,

I upgraded my Dell Latitude CPtS to 256mb (PC100 Micron brand) RAM a month ago. Installing the RAM is a piece of cake - just remove the readily accessible panel on the bottom of the laptop. The RAM SODIMM snaps right in! I ordered my RAM from the DELL page since it was relatively inexpensive ~ $57 for 128MB. I never considered how this would affect my warranty since it is a DELL part.
