im looking to upgrade my ram when i get my macbook. what kind do i need? im unfamilair with ram, and i don't know if its different since its apple.

For a new (Santa Rosa) MacBook, I would suggest 2.5 GB RAM or 4GB RAM. 2GB SO-DIMMs are incredibly cheap right now.
I believe benchies show dual-channel operation (i.e. 2x1GB) isn't that important.
