Ram Compatibility

I'm recently bought a Gigabyte (P4) GA-81PE100 Pro-G. Since this mobo has a dual-channel feature, i also bought a stick of RAM to go with one i already had with my old system. When it arrived with my mobo i realized how different the two sticks were, and unsurpisingly I am unable to get them to run in Dual Channel Mode.

Here are the two I have:
"Brand Unknown" 256 MB, DDR PC-2100
-Double-Sided with 8 chips on each side (total of 16 chips)

CRUCIAL 256 MB, DDR PC-3200
-Single-Sided with 4 chips on one side

Could anyone tell me what makes these two sticks of ram incompatible for Dual Channeling?
i.e. is it the DS vs. SS, Difference in speeds, etc.

PS. the only thing i kno about "Brand Unknown" stick is that its made by MICRON TECH.
