Well it's PNY, nope it's not too good, but if you are penny pinching it will work for you in that board without a problem. I wouldn't buy such cheap memory for a nice setup like that though. Think aobut spending a bit more and get 2x512 of Corsair Value Select or OCZ value, it would be worth your money trust me!!

Wow, I am sure that will really help the OP out.....I bet he is thankful for your help

errrrrrr NEF

in the long run it will be far more beneficial for him, imagine if no one told him and he used it in a job appliance.

I am pretty sure it was just a typo anyway.

I would really like to put some 2x512 in the current build and like you money is tight.

Corsair has a table of how much ram do you really need. That and the fact that I'm not a serious gammer has setteled me on using the 2x256 Kingston HyperX that i have on hand.

I'm sure other memory suppliers have posted similar recomendation tables for the amount of ram one really needs.

EDIT: IIRC, Binning is the process of selecting quality chips after they are grown/built(not sure of the right term). The bottom of the bin does meet the minimum requiorment but is still the bottom of the bin. In the work of checking reviews on different hardware PNY is OK but never seems to shine, again iirc.

I have subcribed to this thread and will sit corrected if wrong on any of the above.

Just because it was bugging me. Did a search came up with Newegg, $89 w/$20 mail-in rebate= $69. Search reviews in other forums. It will not OC and is a toss-up as to stability
on some boards. Even if you do not plan on OCing, its a comfort to have headroom.

1 GB 2x512 Corsair value select can be had at the egg for $90.50, even if the PNY worked and was stable I would still go with the Corsair even if it ment not eating out for a couple of days. $20 is nothing between these two, from reviews and what I have read posted here at Anandtech.

Crucial is like the RAM king.
Then there's OCZ.
Mushkin (if you get the high end stuff).
Corsair still makes good value RAM, but it doesn't OC worth crap. Their higher end stuff is very good.

AvatarD: it depends on what you need, & for what price-point.

Ruh roh. ( To which I can add, that you would be trying to be part of the Spelling Patrol. If you were part of the Grammar Police, you would have to be more articulate in how you express yourself.) ;)

Though it's probably after the fact, I would agree with the other members suggesting a more reputable memory maker. I would also reference against any compatibility lists evga might have for that particular board.

Leave it be TGS. Some of us have an uncontrolable need to build post count by neffing.

That is why I try to subcribe to only fairly serious threads. Neffing breaks to flow of the thread and can be irritating at times but thats what the neffer wants..attention at any price, even a negative one.

Once someone establishes themselves as such a creature, I note the name and don't read that particular post. "MT barrels make the most noise ;)

I hoped this behavior would at least diminish once high school started :p

This thread is now UNsubscribed.
