Ram prices seem to have been going up, but I was a little surprised when I checked out newegg.

I ordered this ram at newegg about 2 months ago maybe for 215 even. Now it's $299. Crazy.

Yeah, the price on the lower-end PC3200 512mb sticks went up about $5-8 since last week. I checked last week to see if it had dropped, and it was at $86 for the one I wanted, the same stick is $92 today.

Just don't buy ram now, we're on a huge price spike. Ram flucuated like crazy, its a good idea to just upgrade when the price drops.

I've noticed that Newegg's prices fluctuate up and down on lots of items.

The CPU I bought a couple weeks ago from them for $226 is priced $232 today. I'm used to buying equipment and then watching the price drop. :p

Last year i bought 4GB of 512MB PC2700 Kingston at $58 a chip :D

Used it in 3 systems, and kept a gig for myself. Its now running in a Dell400SC when they had the 3.2C upgrade deal.

That's not got anything to do with price spikes, that's because it's being phased out so it's rarer, IIRC. (Anandtech's latest RAM article said they were getting rid of the 222)
