i have already bought these parts: amd mobile 2500 / abit NF7-S / Antec 1080 Case /w 430W PS / ATI Radeon 9800 PRO / NEC 2510 / Maxtor 160 GB HDD

the only things left for my to complete my computer are RAM / Heatsink & Fan / Thermal Paste

pretty much everyone recommends arctic silver 5 so i will probably get this ...

onto the RAM .. i want to mildly overclock the CPU .. maybe get around 2.2 - 2.3 Ghz .. so i need RAM that will be able to withstand this overclocking ...

and for the heatsink & fan i really am totally clueless ... in the past ive always used the ones supplied with the cpu but this time since i bought a OEM cpu it didnt come with a heatsink or fan ... i want a fan that is relatively quiet (not tornado)

thanks

also i will be pusing the fsb to 200 mhz max ... so buying PC3200 Value RAM should not casue me any problems right ?

Overclocking a 2500 to 2.3Ghz doesn't seem mild to me. I would suggest either a custom water cooling setup or the SP-97 and 92mm Tornado combo. As far as the RAM goes, just get some name brand PC3200 or higher.

Water cooling setup for a mobile? 😕 Maybe if he wants 2.7GHz w/2.0V...

Check out some of this RAM. It's great for the price.

As for the heatsink, a thermalright or a zalman would be great. WHat's your budget?

EDITed for spelling.

i dont want to spend more than $50 for the heatsink/fan if i can ... one of my friends was telling me to get a SP-97 ... this one has good reviews but is pretty expensive at $57 + $5 shipping from newegg ... are there are other cheaper alternatives that are comparable. . like around the $30 - $40 range
