Hi i am going to be building a system for a friend. I want it to be LIGHTNING fast (hehe) so this is what i was thinking :AMD 1.2 GHZ t-bird (possible O/C but why would you need it on a 1.2?), good socket 462 mobo, and PC150 ram (kingmaxi i guess). I KNOW that PC150 ram is backward compatible with other FSB settings. BUT what kind of motherboard would i need to get to make the FSB x multiplier go from 100 x 12 to 150 x 8? I would REALLY like to see a 150 FSB with PC150 ram. That would own! So what is the best mobo to get? I would guess it would have to be able to change FSB, vcore, and multiplire right? I am guessing the ABIT K7VA-RAID. Wouldn't really need raid though and it is more expenive than the MSI KV7 pro2-A(but i dont think the KV7 can change multiplier). Please help. Thanks in advance.

You need the KT133a chipset to get the 133 mhz FSB. So the MSI K7T Pro2-a is out of the question. The Abit KT7A-RAID and the ASUS A7V133 are both excellent boards based off the KT133a chipset. Either one and you will be happy. But they BOTH have raid. You could wait a little longer until MSI comes out with there KT133a board. I think it is called the K7T Turbo.

*sigh* why doesnt anyone ever answer the question you ask instead of jumping around it? I want to set up a 150 FSB with PC150 SDRAM and a Thunderbird. What motherboard do i need to do this?

Grendell answered in the very first sentence of his reply. If you want to get 150 fsb. you have to start w/ a 133a board. Then for that 17 mhz. is going to depend on the quality ram and of course, luck of the draw.
