Hey, Whats the difference between 128MB Mushkin High Perf REV2 PC133 222....... and ...... 128MB Mushkin High Perf REV1.5 PC133 222? Both of these are on their site. I am going to purchase some for my new system im building and wanna make sure to get the correct 1. The brd is a MSI 6337 512K max 3 dimm sdram brd. Plus, whats the CAS3 and CAS2 i hear about? I imagine the cas3 is faster, but is there that much difference? Thanks!

The difference is the PCB. The chips used are actually the same. There is very little difference between the two--not enough to warrent the difference in price in my opinion. I can't remember the specifics, but I believe they cleaned up the traces a little bit to strengthen the signal.

CAS2/CAS3 refers to the latency in memory access. CAS2 has a lower latency, and is thus a little faster. The difference can vary from 1 or 2% up to 15 to 20% depending on whose opinion you get 🙂 Actually, if you search firingsquad.com for a memory review, they compare CAS2 vs. CAS3, and found less than 3% difference in most tests.

I would still strongly recommend CAS2 if you can afford it, especially if you will be overclocking.

they are both cas2, correct? i just recieved my stick of 128MB Mushkin High Perf REV1.5 PC133 222, and i'm gonna get another before christmas. i had previously had 128 mb mushkin budget pc133 ram(now around 70 or 80 a stick), and it worked fine.
