Ram 2pcs and "v" ?

Was just looking at compatible memory for a Gigabyte motherboard I'm considering, and on the chart it has 2 columns under each brand of ram that say "Single Channel...V" or "Dual Channel V / 2pcs" I can get what the 2pcs mean but what about the "V"?

Could it just be a down arrow, pointing at the column in the chart?

I believe it is a symbol used to indicate use in single or dual channel - relates to voltage. It should be a lower case v. The PDF file, 4th one down, illustrates:
