Just wondering if Polo shirts are worth the extra money they cost. Do they use better materials or are you just paying for the name?

It's easier to find Polo's here cheaper.

I love my one Land's End shirt though...it's a deep blue and one of the few shirts that I get complements on.

I am doing pretty good with clothing picks lately...picked up a $40 pair of sale sneakers, Lugz Tempest...they go good with khaki shorts and jeans with tan accents. I thought they'd be good to knock around in. Damned if people don't ask me what kind of shoes they are.

Ralph Lauren stuff actually seems to be on the cheaply made side... your paying for the name & the little horsey.

Paying for the logo basically. Whether its worth it or not is up to you.

Palm Beach County actually...a bit far from the ghetto.

I don't see what you meant though. Heading to Boca Raton has Polos for cheap just about everywhere.

well i love them. but i buy all of them at the outlet, and only when i can scrounge them for 20 bucks or less. they've lasted me pretty well, compared to these even cheaper ones i bought at aeropostale - the color doesn't fade as fast, the material doesn't stretch or shrink funny, and it is well put together.

If you want to find out buy one then compare it to others.

I am sure once you do, you will find that they are made of better material. After repeated washes it will fade less and hold its shape much better. The cuffs and collar are better constructed. There is tubular taping in the shoulders and neck area for reinforcement. The buttons are higher quality polished and cross stitched. Most manufacturers sew the same collar on all their shirts. Polo shirts have their collars sized to the size of the shirt.

i used to buy RL cotton mesh polos during college... they were 49-52dollars? when i was in college... I was a poor college kid but I checked and they were American made and was very willing to buy em.... I cared about this... then slowingly I saw the same colors in a batch at the dept. store, some were US, some were made in El Salvador... I grabbed the US ones... then as more yrs passed, none were US made... I stopped buying them.

this yr, i got a Nike polo golf w/ dri-fit... for <39.99 just a swoosh... not US made but it was a tech fabric and less money than a cotton mesh RL polo...

so many clothing companies make so much money from you percentage wise on a garment, yet where they outsource the labor to, is insulting for the money you're handing it to... even the places they outsource to should be paid more for what they do.

I have had my brand name Polo shirts ever since I bought them... my non-Polo brand name ones fade and are of a thinner material. I stick with Polo or Chaps (cheap polo).

I think the quality of the Polo shirts seems a bit above average and personally for me the fit seems to be much better than cheaper alternatives.

I think they are worth it...I've gotten no-name polos in the past and they just seem to not fit the same after a few wears/washes

I am a bit biased though as 70% of my clothing is polo.
