I got ~40% once, but I went from hourly to salary at the same time, so an exact percentage is tough to compute (afterward I put in more hours).

Other than that and job changes, the best I've done is 4.5%, which was this year.

Percentages compare what a person was making with what they are making. I honestly don't care how much you're making because more than likely, you're making more money than me.


At the same time....... 3% of nothing is nothing.
 
35% going from first job to second job, then 10% going from second to third, other than not been at a place long enough to get a "raise" in the true sense of the word. Hey, I might just do it at this job, asking for a 7%, let's see if they go for it!
 
The g/f just got 30%. From $60k to $78k. Didn't change jobs, but they realized they were paying far below market.
We are doing well.
 
74% when I went from my first "real" job after finishing school to my second. That jump was kind of a no-brainer. Haven't had a percentage increase anything like that since. Haven't had another absolute dollar increase that high either.
 
Maybe 10%-12% after my 6 month "probationary period" ended at my first engineering job. After 6 months, you either get a raise or you get shown the door. Only 1 person I ever knew here was shown the door. (when you install a file sharing program at a defense cotnractor, then get warned by security and then re-install it .... you should know the door will hit your ass)

Next year, we will probably get a compression raise (average salary is below industry standard) along with hte normal 3-4% raise. So, maybe a 10% raise iwll come next year. After that ... I'm chasing a promotion.
 
Switching jobs, I once went from about $43K/yr to $85K/yr. Within the same job, I think the largest raise I had was about 8K/yr.
 
after 10 months of first job i got 16%
10 months later i got 33%... big daddy raise when i expected only 12%... whats good is now im also eligible for bonuses which is another 10% on top of that. and then lastly i relocated so i got relocation bonus and housing allowance for effectively doubled salary from last year



 
I had a job overseas one time that started at $47k and after three months went to $60k and no income tax...just the tax-free status was a big raise.
 
My first real job out of school I got a 25% overall for the year, in two parts (bi yearly reviews, with a yearly salary review, if you bust your ass both can become salary reviews). It's only been a few months over a year now and I'm gonna keep pushing for 25% a year as long as I can 😀 (these are raises/quasi-promotions, we don't really have well defined ranks)
 
I picked up a 50% rate increase between two consecutive contracts in 2007.

Currently on a 100% rate increase between two parallel contracts.

 
I've had a 20% raise. It was because I was going from full to part time and my boss wanted to give me a bigger incentive to come in and put in more hours.
 
I started out at my job out of college at a decent amount (programming for a hospital), then after 6 months or so they re-evaluated all their jobs and pay amounts and I got a 17% raise 😀
 
people people, a raise is something you get at one employer, not by switching jobs, that is technically not a raise, at least how I see it.

Biggest raise I got was about 20% last year, am expecting about a 15-20% raise here pretty soon, to put me in line with what I should be making.

If we are talking switching jobs, then I went from 30k a year + small bonus (about 4k) to about 70k a year (after the initial training) job, so about 100% this was when the economy was doing very well though 🙁
