Just wondering what is the largest raise that anyone has ever had in the professional world.
Edit: Yes this does include switching jobs / companies

Lets not include the 2k you made one summer and then the 40k you made the next year at your first job.

Me: (1 year out of university)
2.5% raise with 6% of salary bonus
(wish that was the other way around.

3% per year (thanks union!) and then an annual pay-grade increase pending successful review.

so 5% a year or so? does that get a rise out of you?

16% this year, well really 5% annual then a 16% promotion so making 21% more this year than last year at this time.

If you're including changing jobs, I got roughly an 80% raise going from my 1st job out of college to my 2nd. If not, 5.7% after first year at first job.

I got a 6% raise once, it's usually much smaller. I've only gotten the big bumps with promotions or moving to another company.

The largest I've gotten from merit/cost of living adjustments was 5%. Normally they're 2-3%.

As for promotions and such, I've received a 10% bump in pay...

I've received two 10% raises in the past 2.5 years (on top of the cost of living one we get). Been in the same job for almost 9yrs and most of our "raises" are in the form of a bonus

I got a 20% raise at my current job (first real job out of school) just shy of working here a year.

Largest single increase was about 15% (promotion) but more important to me is that my average increase since I've started working is about 6.5%.

After I got back from Iraq I was going to ask my boss for a 25% raise, and expected him to come back with 15-20% and was going to accept it. but before I could even ask, he gave me 40%. Apparently being gone for a year really made him realize what I was worth so he couldnt wait to get me back to work.

15.25% raise this year, 5.25% annual and 10% for new job title, first job out of college, was here a year at the time. Coming from college I went up only $4 an hour.
