I put some RainX on my windshield before driving to Austin, and I'd like to say that that stuff is amazing. There is nothing like watching raindrops roll off your windshield! Too bad it does no good at low speeds :(.

It's especially good at night, you can drive in the rain without the wipers, and you can't even see any water on the windshield :Q

It's a liquid you apply to the windshield, makes it so slick that water beads up and rolls right off. Also helps keep bugs from stickin' ;)

Oh yeah, and it makes your wipers work better....if you even need 'em.

The bottle says not to let any of it get on your paint or plastic.

RainX is OK to put on paint, but it strips the wax, so if you do your whole card you should wax it afterwards. I use this stuff on my monitor. It's great, if I sneeze on it the snot just rolls off. :)

I tried RainX a couple times, and it just made a greasy mess on my windshields that made my wipers work like crap. It worked fine for light rain/drizzle, but when it'd start to rain heavily, the wipers couldn't clean the windshields without making a streaky mess.

If your wipers aren't working effectively, you're better off just buying new ones instead of using RainX.

When the haze formed, did you sprinkle water and then wipe with a paper towell?
I just got new wipers and have yet to use them.

i tried the anti-fog stuff.. it worked... but very shortly. And a PAIN to apply and buff off. And well, ever since, i cannot get the haze off. I see streaks everywhere... it seems if i buff off w/ my hands.. it'll come off.. but not w/ any towels. grrr

I love RainX...heavy rain + highway speed = no wipers :)

If RainX causes your wipers to smear, either replace your wipers, or consider cleaning the crap off your windshield before you RainX it. ;) :p

I like the anti-fog stuff too, you have to use a TON to get good results.

The regular rain-x stuff is great in very heavy rain, you can almost get by without wipers.

I believe they make a line of car waxes too, so you CAN put it over your entire car :)

You gotta be careful with the stuff though...I heard that using it for a long time makes the glass a lot more fragile. Not too sure specifically what happens but my friend complained about cracks in his windshield. If anyone else has any experience with it, I'd love to hear about it because the stuff works GREAT. :(

It doesen't make any sense that it would weaken the glass in any way. It's just a coating on the glass.

It is great stuff, use it on the cars here. Gotta love the way water rolls off it.

And it doesn't weaken your glass. Why would it do that? As far as I know (and I haven't bothered to look this up) it's most likely a silicon based coating. So unless you're using sandpaper or something to buff it off, you should have no problems.

I never liked RainX. It works great when you first apply it but later on, you are forced to reapply it often or you'll get a streaky mess. That adds up to a lot of $$. Besides, nothing beats having clean windshields with clean wipers in the first place.
