Raidmax cases

Need a new case for my HTPC-turned-file server, something with at least 4 HD spots. I was looking at this raidmax case http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811156053 and wondering if it would suit my needs. All I really need is cheap (under $30 not including shipping) with lots of HD spots.

Any other recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks!

IMO the cooling in that case is restricted. I recommend an Antec or a Cooler Master for this type of application.

Yup, a better case will pay for itself over any number of core upgrades. Look at the Rosewill 5600 or 6A (also found under HEC/Compucase brand which is the OEM for Rosewill) series for better, reasonably priced cases (some models or other almost always on sale, free ship, etc. Most of the other Rosewill cases are nowhere near as good as those series. Cooler Master Centurion line can almost always be found on some kind of deal somewhere. The Egg almost always has up to 4 pages of case specials - always good to check those out. I don't see any really decent ones for under $50. in today's specials.

I'm also not above modifying the case. I'll cut out restrictive grills, modify intake areas and such. All I'm looking at is HD capacity and cheap price.

You pay $54.00 shipped for this case and get so much more. Or either of the black ones at the same price. So for a big $7.00 more out of pocket (seventeen after rebate, which you may or may not get), you get a case made out of real 0.8mm SECC steel instead of the 0.6mm or less recycled tin cans (SGCC) the ATop is made from. Quote from one of the Newegg buyer reviews: "screw threads strip easily", from another "feels a bit fragile." Plus you get modern conveniences like a removable hard drive rack (holds up to 5 drives) with isolator bushings, removable floppy cage, rail mounts for the optical drives, toolless card locks, plus a heritage traceable to the legendary Antec SLK3000-B. Besides which, the Rosewill R6A series case will last for at least 5 years thru many system core changes.

Zepper's Rosewill suggestion is definitely a much more worthy purchase. I don't think there's a better case for the price.

I don't need any of the things you mentioned. The price looks good, though.

edit: I don't plan on changing the system core of a file server "many" times over the next five years, much less even once or twice. Only thing I'd do is add more drives and more SATA cards.
